1960s
China’s packaging used to cause great losses using those containers such as wood boxes, bamboo drums,bamboo basket and jute bags. Innovation took place after the founding of Chinapack that was then named China Foreign Trade Packaging Materials Corporation.
1970s
The exported products from China were known as “first-grade quality, second-grade packaging, third-grade price”.Chinapack, then named China National Export Commodities Packaging Corporation, was appointed by the state to be in charge of the overall improvement of packaging for China’s export products. Chinapack drove the technical innovation and facilitated over 400 projects of packaging manufacturing including paper, paper box, printing, ample, canning, wood case, steel drum, jute woven bag, plywood, steel strapping and plastic woven bag.
1980s
Chinapack, or China National Packaging Import and Export Corporation, expanded its import and export business of packaging materials and machineries and further expedited the innovation of China’s packaging industry.
Chinapack’s subsidiary, CEPI, or China National Export Packaging Research Institute, became the director member of Asian Packaging Federation and World Packaging Organization.
A world-wide connection net was established for technology exchange and business cooperation.
1990s
Chinapack was listed Number 7 among China’s 500 biggest import and export companies and became members of the following 6 top chambers of commerce in China:
